Famille Hauller - Gewurztraminer Les Prémices 2023

Alsace, france

Vineyard Story

Established in Dambach-la-Ville since 1776 and originally a master cooper, the Hauller family vineyard today extends over 40 hectares spread over several communes.

Certified in Organic Agriculture and High Environmental Value (Level 3), the Hauller Family is deeply committed to environmental stewardship. Every team member works daily to ensure the utmost care at every stage of bottle production—from vine to glass—honoring the unique character of each terroir.

The Famille Hauller today produces wines from 3 of the 51 Grand Crus of Alsace. These exceptional terroirs—Frankstein Grand Cru, Winzenberg Grand Cru, and Zinnkoepflé Grand Cru—provide the estate with a precious connection to these unique soils.

Appellation: Alsace

Alsace lies near the German border, with vineyards nestled between the Vosges Mountains and the Rhine River.

The region benefits from a semi-continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold winters. The Vosges Mountains provide shelter from excessive rain, creating one of the driest wine regions in France, which is ideal for grape ripening.

Alsace AOC wines are primarily single-varietal wines. The main grapes include Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Muscat. Each of these grapes showcases Alsace’s terroir in different ways.

Certain Alsace AOC wines, such as Vendanges Tardives (Late Harvest) and Sélection de Grains Nobles (Noble Rot), offer natural sweetness, often with rich, concentrated flavors.
